September 25, 2013 - IKF Skip Barber Challenge Program Winners

Attention all IKF members! IKF Region 7 Championship Series is proud to announce the top three winners of the IKF Skip Barber Challenge! Ten drivers competed in this challenge, racing against each other in 6 events at 3 different tracks.

Picking up the 3rd place position and being awarded a preferred entry into the Skip Barber Karting Shootout is Nick Ramirez! Nick or, as most people call him, (QuickNick), started his racing career at age 7. Since then Nick has won many races and is currently running for points in the SKUSA pro tour. Now, at the age of 16, Nick is very excited about taking his career to the next level with the preferred entry into the Skip Barber Karting Shootout. IKF wishes Nick the best of luck in the future.

Bringing home the 2nd place position in the challenge and being awarded one, 3-Day Skip Barber Racing School ($4000), plus a preferred entry into the 2013 karting shootout for a total current retail value of $4000 is Jordan Robertson! Jordan, 19, unlike many others started racing at age 15. He began racing at K1 Speed at an indoor series and learned very quickly that racing takes hard work and determination to be successful. His family invested in a driving coach from HKE and Jordan says he owes much of his success to his coach Jerry Henderson. Jordan is very excited about the opportunity IKF and Skip Barber have provided for him and the other competitors!

Now for the winner of the 2013 IKF Skip Barber Challenge and bringing home the 1st place prize is Christian Brooks! Christian is being awarded one, 3-Day Skip Barber Racing School ($4000), plus one guaranteed 2013 Karting Shootout Entry ($3000) for a total current retail value of $7000! Christian, 13, is the youngest driver out of the top 3 winners and IKF would like to congratulate him on the win. Christian began his racing career at the age of 6. He has numerous wins including a 2011 IKF Grand National Championship as well as a 2012 Gatorz Challenge of the Americas Championship! This kid is definitely one to watch out for! Christian says he owes much of his success not only to the help of his family but to the mentoring and coaching of Buddy Rice and Bryan Herta, both former Indy Car drivers. Christian believes the Skip Barber Racing School is the valuable stepping stone he needs to advance his racing career and reach his goals! Great job Christian!
